Captain Pip was the bravest, boldest mouse on the seven ponds. He wore a grand red coat and a purple hat with a fluffy yellow feather that wobbled when he marched.

"I am the greatest pirate!" Pip boasted to the reeds.

Pip stepped onto his ship, the Swift Walnut. It was a sturdy brown nutshell with a crisp green leaf for a sail.

He untied the string anchor, ready to sail the wide waters alone.
